HALF-PINT COWGIRL CHRONICLESChildren's Fiction / 2019
Inspiration | In August 2015 my husband Robbie was killed in an accident when my daughters were two and a half and five. Nighttime became especially difficult, so I sat with them each evening in their shared room and told stories until they fell asleep. One character—Nellie Mae—quickly became their favorite, and over time I built a whole world around her and her animals. I felt compelled to write the story down to preserve what had become a source of comfort and connection for us.
This is how the Adventures of Nellie Mae was born. We have added other beloved characters and now we are working on a series that we fondly refer to as the Half-Pint Cowgirl Chronicles. Book 1 | Adventures of Nellie Mae A spirited girl grows up on a ranch where her wild heart matches her mischievous animals, leading to laugh-out-loud antics and unforgettable chaos. From barnyard shenanigans to a county fair packed with donut-loving horses and surprise friendships, it’s a warm, hilarious reminder that life on the ranch is never dull.
