Dr. Seuss touched our lives through his unique talents

I feel so blessed that my little tribe was excited by my suggestion to be Cat in the Hat theme for Halloween. As an aspiring children’s author, I hope Dr. Seuss would have been proud of our effort to honor him on our favorite holiday. He touched our lives. He wasn’t afraid to be himself, to accept the challenge of rhyming 220 words and creating something original. By using his unique gifts, he gave parents like me memories to treasure. How many times did I read his stories to my girls while we snuggled and giggled? Too many to count. That feeling is why I even consider writing children’s fiction. To open a world of magic and wonder through stories- it is a gift and Dr. Seuss is a master at the craft. It is also a lesson I constantly try to reinforce to my children. Be genuine. Use your unique gifts that God gave you to give others a gift.
Be like Dr. Seuss- Be authentic with a dash of silly. It will bring joy and love to those around you.

And if you are like me...maybe a touch of mischief like Thing 2.
